With Labor Day just around the corner, some might be tempted to proclaim the end of Summer and set their sights on Fall. In our opinion, it’s a bit too early for that. Things to do in Cape May September 2022

NEW Watercolor Painting at The Queen Victoria | October 17-18 

Join us on October 17 and 18 for a new and very exciting The Queen Victoria activity – watercolor painting! At this on-site event, local painter Phil Courtney guides guests on a journey of imagination and artistic expression. Phil is well-known for capturing the unique atmospheric conditions of the seashore, and the play of sunlight and shadows cast by the intricate details of Cape May’s Victorian architecture. 26th Annual Air Festival | Aviation Museum | September 2-5 

Visit the Aviation Museum for Airfest, September 2-5. The Classic Jet Aircraft Association will fly in, land, and conduct a meet and greet with live music, exhibitors, vendors, plus delicious food and drinks. Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum, 10am. 

 

Tomato Festival | September 3 

Celebrate the State of New Jersey’s well-known fruit at this tomato-themed festival! Festivities begin at 9am and run to 4. All proceeds from this event benefit the West Cape May Shade Tree Commission and its mission to protect the tree canopy of West Cape May. Borough’s Backyard Park, 732 Broadway in West Cape May (behind the Fire House), 9am to 4pm. 

 

Revolutionary & Civil War Weekend | Historic Cold Spring Village | September 10-11 

Authentically clad and equipped reenactors bring the American Revolution and Civil War to life on the grounds of Historic Cold Spring Village, September 10 and 11. Enjoy encampments, weaponry, and demonstrations from living history groups, including Continentals and Hessians. 11am to 4pm. Visitors can experience artillery and small arms demonstrations on both days. Children can search the Village for clues in the Patriot Spy game on both Saturday and Sunday. 

 

Fall Sidewalk Sale | September 15-18 

Washington Street Mall sidewalk sales are famous for great savings on clothing, gifts, collectibles, and more. Now is the time to save on something great for yourself or stock up on holiday (!!!) presents for friends and family. These are the hottest deals of the season from the area’s best merchants. 

 

Harvest Brew Festival | Physick Estate September 17  

A beloved annual tradition at Harvest Brew Fest celebrate all things local in Cape May. Delicious beers from Southern New Jersey’s acclaimed breweries, homemade food, crafts, collectibles, and even live music. All ages welcome! Physick Estate 10am to 5pm.
