Spring Is Finally Here!
While every season is beautiful in Cape May, Spring is an exceptionally lovely and exciting time. Here, the days are packed with fun events featuring live music, delicious food, and friendly people. And, starting this month, we’re especially excited to welcome back several much-missed events at The Queen Victoria that were put on hold due to the coronavirus.
Coming up? Big Cheesy and Chocolate Lovers Weekends
Big Cheesy Weekend | April 17, 2021
Join us at a complimentary cheese tasting party for our reserved guests called the “Big Cheesy”. At this wonderful event, there’s no shortage of different cheese varieties, bread, fruit, and accompaniments to sample. Last time we offered 13 different types of cheese, including delicious brie varieties that were a huge hit. We also served Semolina bread with special olive oil and balsamic vinegars, as well as roasted red peppers and olives. This year, look forward to a similar menu, plus new treats as well.
Chocolate Lovers Weekend | May 15, 2021
Also back this spring is our Chocolate Lovers Weekend. For those who adore chocolate, at this event you’ll find a slew of specialty chocolates to savor, along with chocolate baked goods, an assortment of melted chocolate, cookies, cakes, and more. It’s an excellent event to attend with family and friends. We always hope to host more than one each year, so if you can’t be with us this spring, stay tuned for the next weekend in the fall or winter.
As many of you know, each month we pick a The Queen Victoria room and local restaurant to profile so our followers can learn more about all our accommodation options and nearby eateries. We’re excited to announce April’s Room of the Month is Bloomsbury and the Restaurant of the Month is Union Park.
Bloomsbury is a lovely room that echoes the warmth and cheeriness of spring and summer in Cape May. It’s located on the second floor of Prince Albert Hall and features two large windows that flood the room with sunlight. The canopy bed, period Victorian Eastlake dresser, and comfortable Victorian seating make it a favorite room of many. The bathroom features a one-person whirlpool tub, plus the scenic roofline view of Decatur & Jackson streets is beautiful from Bloomsbury, especially at dusk.
Union Park – a favorite among locals and visitors a like – is reopening this April! Offering globally-inspired cuisine with fresh, locally grown ingredients, the food is award-winning and the atmosphere is casual, yet elegant. A favorite dish is the North American Lobster which comes with saffron risotto that is SO creamy and delicious.
The Queen Victoria is an award-winning Bed & Breakfast in the heart of Cape May. Ideally situated just one block from beautiful beaches and two short blocks from the shopping and dining district, here you’re at the center of Cape May’s best attractions. We look forward to welcoming you soon!
