Watercolor Weekend with Phil Courtney | November 15 & 16

Enjoy this on-site event where local artist Phil Courtney guides guests on a journey of imagination and creative expression. Phil is well-known for capturing the unique atmospheric conditions of the seashore and the play of sunlight and shadows cast by the intricate details of Cape May’s Victorian architecture. He paints a variety of subjects using oils and watercolors.

Phil Courtney has been painting professionally for over 40 years and enjoys using both watercolors and oils. He received his art education from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, PA. He began his career painting billboards for outdoor
advertisers and moved to painting his original works using both watercolors and oils about 25 years ago. His work has been featured in local galleries and in Philadelphia and has participated in several international juried exhibitions.

Phil paints a variety of subjects, indoors and out, using oils and watercolors, depending on the subject and location. He is proficient in both mediums and has developed techniques for capturing the unique atmospheric conditions of the seashore, and the play of sunlight and shadows cast by the intricate details of the Cape May Victorian architecture. He has also received international recognition for his very realistic paintings of floral images.

Phil has been presenting painting workshops for several years in the Cape May area. He enjoys introducing watercolor painting to beginners or to anyone wishing to learn new techniques.

The cost for this workshop is $200. Light refreshments will be served like cheese, crackers, and tea. BYOB.
