We can’t wait for this year’s Cape May 4th of July festivities to begin! Cape May is the perfect place to celebrate our nation’s birthday. In fact, many agree that July is their favorite month to visit Cape May. With colorful fireworks displays, parades, special events, and good-old summertime fun, Cape May is absolutely a must-visit spot for Independence Day 2019. What’s happening this year?

 

INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE

This year, Cape May’s Independence Day Parade is on Saturday, July 6th. Beginning at 1:00 pm, the parade takes place along Beach Avenue. Don’t miss this festive celebration complete with vintage cars, holiday floats, and live performances by local musicians.

 

CAPE MAY CITY FIREWORKS

Cape May City Fireworks are held at Congress Beach where onlookers can enjoy fantastic views from the sand, promenade or any property facing Beach Avenue. The show begins at 9:00 pm and includes an hour of dazzling fireworks. Please note, in the event of rain, the fireworks display may be rescheduled or canceled.

 

LOWER TOWNSHIP FIREWORKS

If you’re bayside, the Lower Township fireworks display on July 3rd is the place for you. This event, held along the bayfront, offers an evening of live music, entertainment, delicious food, children’s amusement rides, and spectacular fireworks. Festivities begin at 5 pm between Lincoln Boulevard and Emerson Avenue. Amusement rides are on Washington Boulevard and Franklin Avenue. Fireworks begin at around 9 pm.

 

HISTORIC COLD SPRING VILLAGE INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

For history buffs, this annual celebration is a perfect fit. It includes patriotic activities and events suitable for the entire family. Held on July 6th and July 7th from 10 am to 4:30 pm, this historic Independence Day celebration features tours of restored village buildings as well as American trade and crafts demonstrations. It’s a great way to celebrate Independence Day 2019.

 

Dinner at the Red store & Fireworks atop the Cape May Lighthouse

Make this 4th of July unforgettable with a rare opportunity to watch the Cape May fireworks from the top of the Cape May Lighthouse. Dinner will be prepared by Chef Lucas Manteca from Cape May Point’s Red Store. After dinner, you’ll enjoy amazing views of the fireworks from the best spot on the island.
