Visit The Queen Victoria in June 2021.

Welcome to summer in Cape May! Around here, summer is a big deal. There are so many fun things to do and sites to see. It really is a lovely time of year to visit. Coming up in June are two much-anticipated events, plus read more about NEW Revolution Rail Co., Prince Alfred, and Louisa’s.

West Cape May Strawberry Festival | June 5

The West Cape May Business Association is excited to bring you the West Cape May Strawberry Festival, June 5, 2021 (rain date June 6). Here, strawberries abound in both edible and non-edible forms. Festivities begin at 9 am and continue until 5 pm at the Borough’s Backyard Park, located behind the Fire House at 732 Broadway. Step into summer at this festive event.

The Gardens of Cape May Tour | June 12th

The Garden Tour of Cape May is a favorite seasonal event celebrating the most beautiful private gardens in Cape May. Join this self-guided walking tour for an exclusive look at illustrious landscapes all about town. Smell and see what’s blooming at several different seashore locations flooded with sunlight and fresh air. Plus, the Physick Estate gardens are included! Maps will be provided on tour day at the Physick Estate, 1048 Washington Street.

Fun Thing To Do | Revolution Rail Co.

Guests are raving about Revolution Rail Co. New in 2020, railbiking with Revolution Rail Co. is a fun way to explore a piece of the Adirondack railroad that never saw passenger traffic. Enjoy a four-mile out-and-back trip alongside the Garrett Family Preserve. On this hybrid bike/rail ride, you’ll travel through expansive wildflower meadows and experience world-class viewing opportunities for migrating songbirds, raptors, and pollinators like bumblebees and monarch butterflies.

Please note: Revolution Rail Co. is book through mid-June. If you’re interested, it’s a good idea to make your reservations in advance.

Room of the Month | Prince Alfred

Prince Alfred is a lovely ocean-facing room located on the second floor of the House of Royals building. It’s especially nice in the summer months, with its private balcony and rocking chairs. Inside, Prince Alfred offers historic wall coverings and handsome window treatments, plus a queen-sized bed, period antiques, and a comfortable seating area. A private marble-floored bath features a glass-enclosed European-style hydro-massage shower. Check availability.

Restaurant of the Month | Louisa’s

Long before the farm-to-table trend invaded America, Louisa’s offered expertly seasoned dishes lovingly prepared and made from first-rate ingredients. Today, this tiny-but-iconic eatery continues its service of dishing out incredibly fresh and delicious food from its small historic (and yellow!) location. Enjoy regional fare including fresh-caught fish from the Atlantic plus vegetables, fruit, herbs, and beautiful fresh flowers from West Cape May’s Beach Plum Farm. It’s no wonder Louisa’s is a longtime local favorite.

Gift Shop Item of the Month | Harney’s Tea

We love Harney’s Tea. Their flavors are delicate and not overpowering. Enjoy notes of peach, vanilla, black currant, and mango. All are delicious, no matter the temperature. In summer, serve with fresh mint. In winter, try adding lemon or cream. Available in our gift shop, all year long.

There you have it. There’s plenty to keep you busy during your summer stay at The Queen Victoria. We still have plenty of rooms available (June through September), but some weeks and weekends are already fully booked. If you’d like to visit, please reserve your room soon!
