Cape May History
Whaling station, pirate's den, religious haven, seaside resort, fishing port, Victorian enclave and birding preserve are all descriptions of Cape May, New Jersey. Known for welcoming "sojourners" since the mid-1700's, Cape May is America's oldest seaside resort. In microcosm, Cape May is also the story of how man and nature have interacted for thousands of years.
