Cape May Food and Wine Festival
Activities in Cape May
Cape May’s Mid-Atlantic Center for the Humanities, responsible for many historical preservations and tours in the town, also puts on a number of food-related events throughout the year! One of these is the Cape May Food and Wine Celebration, a special sure-to-satisfy lineup of culinary delights taking place from September 15-19 in 2012.
The individual events taking place at the festival are too numerous to all discuss here, so we will just cover some of the highlights. To begin with, the Harvest Food & Wine Dinner serves parings of cheese and wine from the Seaside Cheese Company and Cape May Winery at the Emlen Physick Estate. A salad course, samplings from three dinner entrees and two desserts will also be served!
Locations like the Hawk Haven Vineyard and Aleathea’s Restaurant will be hosting their own events—a traditional clambake with lobster and wine parings at the Vineyard and a four-course dinner with beer pairings at the restaurant!
Please note that the nature of some of these events prohibit children from attending. However, the Gourmet Lunches series at a different restaurant each day is open to anyone with reservations.
Finally, you can visit the Cape May Winery for a trip from the vineyard to the winery itself and sample some of the different selections they offer. All this and much more happens at the Food & Wine Celebration near our Cape May bed and breakfast!
