Cape May Birding and Observatory

Cape May is one of the ten best birding locations in the world. The Cape May Bird Observatory offers programs for novices as well as experts at their location in Cape May Point, just minutes from Cape May by car or bicycle. Cape May Point is also the location of the Cape May Lighthouse which has been restored and is open for tour through November, reopening in the spring. You could not find a better vantage point from which to view the Cape May peninsula on a clear day.

The Cape May Nature Center, located on the shores of Cape May Harbor, features programs and exhibits relating to Cape May's marine environment. The Wetlands Institute offers exhibits and programs from their location just 10 miles north on Stone Harbor Boulevard, Garden State Parkway exit 10. The Cape May County Zoo is set in 200 acres of park land in Cape May Court House, just eleven miles north of Cape May. Over 300 species are exhibited and you can walk on an elevated pathway through a simulated African Savannah where the animals roam free.
